Kent Rodman
Ch. 9

1. A method of understanding students prior knowledge would be to do a K-W-L chart. This will help you establish understanding and hopefully find a good starting place.
2. It is important to establish anchors for a project in order to gain a sense of students' starting points and how far they are going to work to meet their learning goals.
3. Several ways to assess what students learned during the project are: show a film and discuss it, collect typical tests to establish understanding of traditional tools, and listen to student conversations.
4. Concepts in this chapter relate to our project because we are nearing the end of our project. Evaluation of understanding and concept knowledge is important to measure understanding. If your assessments prove little or no knowledge was acquired, a new lesson strategy may be necessary for the next semester. As teachers we need to be willing to adapt and change as we and our students develop in an ever changing society.

  1. I felt you did a good job answering the questions. However, I would have liked a few page numbers or examples to go with it.
